If you find an afternoon of live opera performances mixed with art appealing, be sure to make plans to attend OperaArts’ annual Festival of Opera and Art. This FREE cultural event set to take place on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at Palm Desert Civic Center Park is only a 10-minute drive from your luxurious Indian Wells resort.
Highlights of this popular event include interactive art in the park, children’s activities, food and beverage vendors, and a pre-show piano performance. At 2 p.m., renowned opera singers will perform selections from Verdi, Mozart, Bizet, Bellini, Offenbach and more with a 33-piece orchestra led by Maestro Gualtiero Negrini.

While you’re here, don’t miss the 10th Annual Indian Wells Arts Festival, April 6-8, which transforms the spacious plaza of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden into the most picturesque artisan village!
This premier fine arts festival in Indian Wells features more than 200 talented artists displaying singular creations in a variety of media – from painting, drawing and ceramics to photography, sculpture, jewelry and more. Visitors will also get a chance to witness mastery in action – the Indian Wells Arts Festival features onsite demonstrations of glass blowing, pottery making, sand and stone sculpture, and mural painting. You’ll also enjoy food, wine and live music, as well as interactive fun for the kids like sidewalk chalk drawing and other creative projects.
On Easter morning, relish outdoor dining while admiring panoramic mountain views from the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The Indian Wells Arts Festival offers an “Eggs & Champagne in the Garden” brunch. The fun includes live entertainment and face painting for the youngsters.
